Weird crash for a reportedly seasoned Ducati 848 rider, who appears to have made a serious mistake and subsequently rode off the road.
According to the authors of these videos, the chap passed them at about 100 mph (160 km/h), only to crash tens of meters ahead, after a slight bend in the road.
Taking a look at the second video, you can all see that the turn is anything but a sharp or difficult one, even when approached at high speed.
Given the sport nature of the Ducati 848, leaning hard through such a turn can get both man and machine safely around the corner.
However, we cannot rule out some dirt, sand or even gravel on the road, and these can effortlessly cut a rider down in a split second.
Lucky to see the guy was alright, despite having mauled his Ducati pretty badly. Judging by the huge boulders on the side of the road, the chap had a really close shave. As for his riding experience, we thought seasoned riders don't lay a heavy hand on roads they don't know or where they know zero-grip areas may be encountered.
