Who would win a race between a sporty, modified Ducati 1199 Panigale and a Mercedes SLS? The answer is a difficult one, since both beast should be running one the same strip, quarter mile or longer.
Yet we figure out this would be a rather close one, with the pilots themselves making the difference, most likely. At least, that's what this footage shows: both the modified Panigale and the SLS-AMG have enough resources for making such a contest really interesting.
Now, this wasn't a proper race, with all the traffic and constant need to brake because of the other cars. Nor was it a safe thing to do, since many similar races end up in nasty crashes and terrible consequences.
But one thing has been proven: we'd like to see the SLS-AMG running against this Panigale. Since the SLS is already modified, the Termignoni complete race exhaust, modified airbox and K&N filter, the modified ignition mapping and the BST carbon race wheels seem a fair addition to tthe standard Ducati.
