Daytona Testing for Prototype, Prototype Challenge Race Cars Suspended by IMSA

The International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) and Continental Tire announced today that on-track testing for USCC Prototype and Prototype Challenge race cars has been suspended following some “issues” that were discovered at the Daytona International Speedway.
IMSA officials declined to offer further details, but said they are “analyzing the situation and working toward a solution”. However, Daytona testing will continue for the GT Le Mans (GTLM) and GT Daytona (GTD) classes, as well as on-track testing of the DeltaWing DWC13 prototype.

The 2014 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship will commence on January 25-26, 2014 with the 52 running of the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. The final race of the season is scheduled on October 4, 2014 at Road Atlanta.
