David Coulthard really can’t get over his obsession for F1, so when Mercedes-Benz recnetly asked him to put the fresh SLS AMG GT through its paces, he chose to manhandle the car on the Nurburgring GP track.
Mercedes also couldn’t get over its own obsession, filming everything for marketing purposes, so here we are showing you how Coulthard played with the supercar. Mercedes created the more hardcore GT after the SLS AMG received a few pieces of criticism for not being mean enough.
We’ll remind you that the SLS AMG Gt is not offered alongside the “standard” version, but repalces this. In fact, this is what Coulthard’s run shows, that the tech upgrades brought to the car have made it faster.
The 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 unit now delivers 583 hp instead of 563 hp, but this isn’t the only area where the car has been enhanced. For example, the suspension has been made a bit stiffer, in order to offer better handling.
