Cool Bike Stunt without a Front Wheel but with a Lady on the Front Fender – Video

Cool stunt, no helmets 1 photo

It will most likely remain a complete mystery to me why stunt riders refuse to wear helmets. And watching the video after the jump only adds to the whole thing, especially because this stunt is really tricky and dangerous and has very good odds to end up with a crash and severe injuries.
Still, neither the rider nor the young lady who rides his front fender don’t seem to be too much preoccupied with their own safety and well-being. Some say that it has got to do with the fact that the footage has allegedly been shot in Colombia and there’s a very small “personal safety culture” in the county.

Well, honestly, it may be so. Many countries in South America are completely chaotic when it comes to road regulations and abiding the law, and this is a fact. There’s no need for gratuitous political correctness here, these are the very facts. The same is happening in certain regions of Asia and in Africa, as well.

Ignorance is not bliss

If anybody is expecting to see a poor guy riding a beat up scooter spending say, a hundred dollars on a helmet, this is ridiculous and shows how disconnected such fellows are from reality. Many helmetless riders we get to see in various videos from such regions are first of all, too poor to afford getting a proper helmet. Surely, some of them are also completely ignorant when it comes to motorcycling safety. Even so, they could definitely find a cheap lid to keep their “pudding” a tad safer. Or not. It’s their own lives at stake.

Still, when it comes to stunt riders, it’s always puzzling to see one not wearing a helmet, let alone protective gear. I mean, since they are stunt riders, even though not doing this for a living, I might assume that they are first of all - good riders. And that they spend a lot of time on their bikes, training and trying to replicate various tricks or even developing new, more difficult ones.

Bravo, that’s a great thing, but have they never even contemplated the perspective of falling from the bike head-first onto concrete or asphalt? Or are they just fine saying something like “okay, intracranial hemorrhage will turn me into a vegetable, in case I don’t die right away, sounds like a good deal”? Wonder how many fellows wreck their lives annually because of such crashes…

PS: Here's a good reading on motorcycle deaths in 2013.
