Citroen is preparing to tackle the upcoming Geneva Motor Show with a new version of its C5, the CrossTourer, which is aimed at stealing customers from the crossover market.
Let’s take a moment to talk about the segment in which the Citroen C5 CrossTourer will play in. While Audi and Subaru have been in the business of making lifted wagons for quite a few generations now, more carmakers have decided to make their move meanwhile. One of these companies is Skoda, which has had the Scout for two generations, while VW has its Passat Alltrack and Opel comes with its Insignia Country Tourer.
The trick here is the Hydractive III+ air suspension, which raises the ground clearance as follows” plus 60 mm at up to 10 km/h, an extra 40 mm up to 40 km/h and plus 15 mm up to 70 km/h. Alas, this is an optional feature and Citroen won’t tell us what the ride height for the “fixed” suspension is.
You can distinguish Citroen’s C5 CrossTourer thanks to its manlier body elements and chrome-finished mirror caps.
You can already preorder the Citroen C5 CrossTourer, which comes with a starting price of EUR31,950.
