Chrysler's Uconnect infotainment system has been upgraded for the 2015 model year with new or improved features, faster processing speeds and other bits and bobs designed to make life onboard that bit more pleasant for both driver and passengers. Available on a broad range of vehicles, from the Ram 1500 pickup truck all the way to the manic Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, here's what's you can expect from the latest-gen Uconnect infotainment system.
Uconnect provides a suite of satellite navigation, communication, Internet connectivity and entertainment features, including turn-by-turn directions, Internet radio streaming, handsfree phone calls and voice-text reply. Entertainment features include: AM/FM, HD and satellite radio, Bluetooth audio streaming, a CD player, USB, SD and AUX inputs, as well as buttons on the steering wheel for easier access to all of the above.

In terms of navigation-related goodies, drivers are offered access to points-of-interest, hi-def maps and turn-by-turn directions broadcasted over the vehicle's audio system. The instrument cluster incorporates a Driver Information Display, providing real-time, full color directions at a glance, which is a nice thing to have if you don't want to take your eyes off the road to check the dash-mounted 8.4-inch touchscreen.

Similar to GM's OnStar 4G LTE, the Uconnect Access is a suite of connected services meant to offer the driver and passengers a variety of services leveraged by an in-car data connection to the world wide web. The thing that might interest you most is the built-in Wi-Fi hotspot feature, which offers you fast Internet access for any mobile device such as a smartphone, tablet or even a gaming console. Yelp Search is also offered, together with a voice texting feature, a rearview mirror-mounted 9-1-1/Assist Button, as well as remote lock, unlock and start features.

Last but not least, Uconnect Access Via Mobile allows customers to enjoy popular Internet radio apps such as Pandora, iHeartRadio, Slacker and Aha by Harman. SiriusXM radio? It can do that as well. SiriusXM Travel Link and Traffic is also available, offering access to handy services that include movie listings, fuel prices, weather information, sports scores, route guidance, mapping and road closure alerts.
