Chrysler Motor Village Opens in 2011

Back in 2009, American manufacturer Chrysler was making a big fuss and asked, with fear in its voice and an ax in its hands, to eliminate as many of the non-performing dealers as possible. Its very existence was threatened, Chrysler said.

Now, one year and a few months after exiting bankruptcy, it decided to show the remaining dealership network how the business of selling cars should be run.

Downtown Los Angeles will become home in 2011 to the newest manufacturer-operated dealership in the US. Called Motor Village, the dealership will be an example for independent partners, housing all the carmakers brands: Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram Truck, Fiat and Mopar.

The building which makes up the Motor Village is centered around a five-story glass tower filled with cars: Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands on the first floor, Ram Truck on the second and so on.

The state-of-the-art facility will help customers better find their way to the cars of their dreams with the help of brand signs and kiosk-like information and merchandise towers.

“The Los Angeles Motor Village goes above and beyond the traditional Chrysler Group dealership,” said Peter Grady, Chrysler Group’s vice president of Network Development and Fleet. “This dealership creates a presence both inside and out. Our customers will experience our brands in unique salons that reflect each brand’s identity and character.”

The facility will receive its first guests on Tuesday, as a sort of preview of both the Motor Village and the Los Angeles Auto Show which is about to start in the city.
