Chevy is all about its small cars for gen-Y buyers at this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas, targeting the “in” crowd with sportier versions of the Sonic. This concept is called the Sonic Z-Spec 2.5 and should get its fair share of attention.
The Z-Spec 2.5 is finished in White Tricoat paint and rides on 18-inch wheels conted in Galvano Silver with Signal Red edges. This same dark finish is applied to the grille surround, fog lamp bezels, and door pillars.
Inside, the concept features Jet Black leather trim with Orange Crust inserts and orange stitching. It’s also been kitted out with a KICKER 200-watt DSP amp and a 200-watt powered subwoofer.
Right now, Chevrolet is remaining tight-lipped about what’s under the bonnet, but they did say this machine has the performance to match the looks, and who knows, it might really have a 2.5-liter under the bonnet. They have revealed, however, that the engine has been fitted with a cold-air intake kit and a Borla exhaust system.
autoevolution will be attending the 2012 SEMA, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
