Chevrolet is preparing quite a lot of nice gifts for this year’s SEMA and now they’ve revealed something for the pickup truck lovers. We’re talking about the Chevrolet Silverado Cheyenne Concept.
This is a pretty pumped-up truck, but don’t expect to see the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor’s Baja-like approach. Oh no. This is a truck for the road and, if it ever goes into production, it would rival the 2014 Ford F-150 Tremor.

The starting point for the project was the new Silverado, in its standard cab shape. However, the engineers have used a recipe that always works, adding more muscle and shedding some weight.

They’ve thrown away about 200 lbs (kg) by playing with carbon fiber. The front and rear aprons, tailgate and cargo box now contain the wonder material. To achieve the aforementioned wiehgt loss, they’ve also removed some exterior and interior elements, as well as introduced composite rear leaf springs. Oh and by the way, as you may have notice, the ride height has been seriously reduced.

Under the hood, the 5.3-liter V8 made way for Chevrolet’s new 6.2-liter V8, which means that the driver now gets to play with an extra 65 HP and 77 lb-ft of torque. The total output sits at 420 HP and 460 lb-ft (Nm) of torque.

As for the rest of the tech story, this pumped-up Silverado uses the Camaro Z/28’s Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, hidden behind 19-inch wheels also coming from the Camaro Z/28

The Silverado Cheyenne Concept makes reference to multiple Chevrolet vehicles. The company explains that this designation was first featured on the superior equipment level used by its trucks in 1971.
