We thought that the Chevrolet Aveo was really bad, but stepping out of that and into their new cheap sedan for Europe will be even worse. We’re talking about the Cobalt sedan, originally designed for the Brazilian market, which will be sold across Europe starting next January.
The Cobalt was unveiled at the 2011 Buenos Aires Auto Show in June and is offered with a choice of two engine options in Brazil, a 1.4-liter with 102 hp and a bigger 1.8-liter that has yet to be fully revealed.
GM said the Cobalt is a global product and will be offered with a choice of four cylinder engines ranging in displacement from 1.3 to 1.8 liters running on ethanol, petrol or diesel, with automatic and manual transmissions available.
We honestly don’t know what to compare this car to. The current affordable European sedans, the Renault Clio Symbol, Dacia Logan, Kia Rio Sedan and Fiat Linea, they’re all better in one way or another than this thing. The Logan is also very cheap right now, and you can probably get a deal before the new one arrives. So, we’d forget all about the Brazilian Chevy.
