It's almost difficult to ask the driver of a track-special, be it based on a hot hatch of a supercar, to refrain from using the abilities of his or her machine on the street. And yet practicing mindfulness behind the wheel of focused rides is more important than it might seem.
Sure, these beasts allow for plenty of control, but this sometimes ends up working against the human in the driver's seat. Let's take the 2014 Camaro Z28 in the video below, for example.

The driver tried to show off while leaving a Cars & Coffee Irvine event that took place a while back. Using an extremely wide right turn inside the city, the man tried to get his Z28 slightly sideways, but almost ended up kissing the curb.

While having no regard for his or other's safety is the obvious issue here, there are other reasons for which such activities should happen on racing-sanctioned asphalt.

Sure, the Camaro Z28 is an astounding muscle car, since it can handle track abuse all day long without complaining about the twisty bits.

And yet all the efforts made by GM engineers can easily be rendered useless when aiming to drift this Chevy on the street.

To our eyes, it looks like the rear wheels were enjoying different levels of grip at the time when the driver floored it, with the sand on the right causing the spinning tendencies.

That's what happens when you don't take things gradually lap after lap, immediately jumping on the hooning bandwagon instead.

Many racing drivers or performance driving instructors use a car's semi-active electronic stability control mode for the first lap of a track, only putting the electronics to sleep only after becoming familiar with the track conditions of a particular episode.

Fortunately, the Camaro Z28 managed to find its grip, despite the driver panicking and using the brakes (that's something you don't do when the rear end steps out). To us, this story has "inexperienced driver's luck" written all over it.
