Chevrolet has announced plans to introduce three 2014 Camaro concept cars and an SS high-performance sedan co-developed with NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon at the SEMA Show this week.
First up is the Chevrolet Performance Garage Camaro, a musclecar based on the production Camaro SS and fitted with an array of Chevrolet Perfomance parts and Chevrolet Accessories. The musclecar features a ground effects package, sport-tuned suspension, and sports brakes and exhaust.
The other two Camaros, the Performance V8 and V6 concepts, were also built using Chevrolet Performance parts and Accessories, but also incorporate ZL1 and Z/28 high-performance parts.
Finally, the Jeff Gordon SS, which was “restyled to reflect Gordon’s style and the performance credentials of the brand’s all-new rear-wheel-drive performance sedan”, comes with a red exterior, new grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, lower exhaust and Borla exhaust, while interior modifications include perforated suede seats, Chevrolet Accessories pedal kit and a racing-style steering wheel.
Chevrolet will also showcase the 2014 Camaro Z/28 at SEMA, but said there was no need to modify the “already comprehensively engineered car”.
