Coulomb Technologies announced that Central Florida is the first to install a ChargePoint Networked Charging Station for electric vehicles, as part of the $37 million ChargePoint America program.
Orlando will see hundreds of free home and public ChargePoint stations for EVs being installed, as carmakers will bring their eco vehicles in the area. An official ribbon cutting ceremony was held yesterday at the Orlando City Hall Plaza to commemorate the occasion. The event was attended by multiple special guests, including City of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer; Orange County Government, Florida, Mayor Richard T. Crotty; Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) Board President Katie Porta; Coulomb Technologies Executive Vice President Bret Sewell and NovaCharge President Helda Rodriguez. smart USA was also present, as the company showcased the fortwo electric drive during the event.
Coulomb’s ChargePoint America program will offer almost 5,000 charging stations to participants in nine regions of the U.S.: Austin, Texas; Detroit; Los Angeles; New York; Orlando, Fla.; Sacramento, Calif.; the San Jose/San Francisco Bay Area; Bellevue/Redmond, Wash. and Washington, DC. It also has a strategic partnership with three top automobile brands: Ford, Chevrolet and smart USA.
