Carroll completes DTM lineup

Team Kolles T.M.E finally signed 24-year old Adam Carroll to fill up the last seat available in this year's DTM series. The blond Ulsterman raced in the GP2 for the past two years and tested for BAR-Honda in 2005, but his opportunities of pursuing his career in a top open-wheel championship were very limited, due to his lack of sponsorship.

"Last year was a nightmare [with Spanish outfit Racing Engineering], so I hope to have plenty to cheer about this season," British Autosport magazine quotes Adam Carroll as saying.

The Briton, who won three races driving for Super Nova in the GP2 series, will drive a two-year old Audi A4 DTM for Team Kolles T.M.E., owned by the Romanian-born Ingolstadt-based Managing Director of the Spyker MF1 Team. Despite switching from single-seaters to touring cars, Carroll hasn't give up his dream to race in a Formula 1 car.

Until as recent as two weeks ago, Carroll was linked to a drive in the Champ Car World Series, but short-on-cash as he is, he failed to secure a race seat, so he happily accepted to partner Belgian lady driver Vanina Ickx at Team Kolles T.M.E. in the 2007 DTM season.

Carroll already joined his new team for the official DTM test session in Oschersleben, clocking an impressive 7th fastest time out of the 12 cars on track. The first race of the season goes underway on April 22 in Hockenheim.
