We have heard of quite a few incidents where cars accelerate on their own, but we hadn’t seen anything of the sort from an on-board camera. Well, now we have and we can say that it is a very scary experience for everybody involved. However, this particular event did not end badly, as the driver was able to keep the car under control, before it finally revved itself silent.
The event took place in Taiwan, where a driver was just driving along, normally, when the car suddenly started accelerating on its own - it also kicked down, so we suspect it was an automatic. Thankfully, the driver was able to avoid any obstacles, then the car was put into neutral and rolled to a stop a few hundred meters later.
