Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Gets Improved by Hennessey

Cadillac is well known for it it robust “armored” vehicles. Even when we are talking about the CTS-V Coupe, the manufacturer’s “athlete” vehicle, there is an obvious Cadillac inheritance which makes it a bit hulking. But the improved coupe will change its perception after receiving a “makeover” from Hennessey making it lighter and more powerful.

The manufacturer planned to release only 12 units of the Cadillac CTS Hennessey V1000 that will be true “adrenaline pumps.” If you were wondering what makes this coupe so special, you will be surprised to find out that major changes happened underneath the hood.

The tuning company has fitted a twin-turbocharged 427ci LS V8 engine in the new machine boasting a whopping 1000hp at 6.400rpm thus being capable of a sprint from 0-60mph (approx.100km/h) in just 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 230mph (370km/h) turning this Cadillac into a true American muscle car.

Beside the “tweaks” made at the GM V8, the company will also improve the clutch and brakes. The widebody kit made from carbon fiber developed by Henessey is expected to reduce the Cadillac V coupe’s weight by 200 lbs (approx. 90 kg). As all the supercars are fitted with carbon fiber parts in order to improve power to weight ratio it might be a slight probability that the new version will also come fitted with some carbon fiber elements.

The future owners of this former “lazy giant” will get a one-day driver training class and track experience with John Heinricy, former director of the GM Performance Division.
