BYD Ready with Cali Dealership

Are you living in California and planning to buy a new car? Was, by chance, the car of your dreams to be “made in China?” You're in luck! The highly anticipated arrival of the Chinese auto makers on the American market is upon you...

Think of it this way: at least, the first established Chinese auto maker to make land fall in the US is partially owned by an American. So, if Warren Buffet thought BYD was worth it, perhaps you should consider the brand too.

According to Glendale News-Press, the Chinese auto maker is getting ready to open a dealership of some sorts on the Brand Boulevard in Glendale, the first of what BYD promises to be a chain of 10 stores in North America by the end of next year.

The main asset to be sold by BYD in the US will be, as some of you know by now, the auto maker’s electric and fuel efficient engines. Meaning exactly what Americans are looking for these days. It remains to be seen whether the package in which the EVs and fuel efficient cars come in is enticing enough for the American buyers.

Last week, BYD entered the media attention after a series of diplomatic cables published by WikiLeaks showed the ugly face of the company. According to the documents, BYD likes to copy other companies' technologies, uses the money it saves on development to undercut competitors on price and that cuts a lot of corners when it comes to the safety of their cars.
