Mercedes Benz’s tuning specialist Brabus is the first company to develop an advanced car multimedia system based on the Apple iPad 2. The tablet computer has been integrated in the rear compartment of the Brabus 800, which is one of (if not the) most impressive versions of the V12-powered S-Klasse out there, offering 800 horsepower and a supercar-like top speed.

The iPad 2 has been linked to the car’s on-board entertainment system and allows the rear passengers to access all function of the S-Klasse in the rear of the car.

Thanks to its good built-in cameras, the iPad could also provide an excellent platform for video conferences. You could even do it at the electronically limited top speed of 350 km/h (219 mph). This impressive performance comes thanks to the twin-turbo engine that produces 800 hp (588 kW) and a peak torque of 1.420 Nm (1,047 lb-ft).

Brabus technicians have created a custom table to which the tablet computers can be connected. The iPad 2 is connected via a WiFi network to a Mini Mac located in the car's trunk that serves as the central computer. The car also gets a 15.2-inch TFT display, which is mounted on the ceiling between the front seats, as well as with two screens mounted in the back of the front seats. The last of the electronic devices starting with the letter ‘i’ that have been installed is a 64GB Apple iPod touch that can store more than 14,000 songs.

The rest of the interior is decorated with Brabus Yachting wood-trim and two-tone leather.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
