Boston Dynamics Sand Flea Jumping Robot

We know that most of you have never heard of Boston Dynamics, and we admit that most US Army technology seems like it was designed by Texans in sheds, but this is epically cool.
This remote control vehicle is obviously designed as a compact scout vehicle for tight urban battlefields. You could even imagine it being carried around in the backpack of an infantryman. To this end, its weight of only 11 lbs (5 kg) also recommends its for this scouting role.

But what makes it different from your average child’s toy? Boston Dynamics, who also built a very cool walking robot, says the Sand Flea can jump up to 30 feet into the air. What’s interesting is that this demonstration video of the robot in action shows the the distance and angle it jumps at is controllable.

An onboard stabilization system keeps it oriented during flight to improve the view from the video uplink and to control landings.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
