We always said that traffic bollards are menacing pieces of engineering and we are here now to give you an example of that. The unfortunate piece of news comes from the Netherlands, where a BMW M3 E92 was turned into a total wreck by a traffic bollard.
The M3 coupe was parked on top of the area dedicated to the bollard, when this rose from the road directly into the vehicle’s V8 engine. The powerplant didn’t stand a chance and, as you can see in the adjacent photos, which come from Autogespot, the engine was drained of oil by the impact.
Like we said, the unfortunate situation reportedly turned the M3 into a complete wreck, so we can only be sorry for such a stupid accident.
