Premium German automotive producers have seen their performance division sales boom over the last few years, and we’re referring especially to the kits they offer for standard vehicles. BMW wants to make full use of this and after the company recently introduced a new range of M Performance diesels, it is now announcing an M Performance Parts feast for the Geneva Motor Show.
BMW is expanding the program, offering goodies for the exterior, interior and tech side of the 1-, 3- and 5-series, with the company set to offer even more bits and pieces in the future.

We’ll start with a series of power kits, which target BMW’s four-cylinder diesels. As an example, the 120d, 320d and 520d receives hardware and software goodies that take the 2.0liter from 184 hp to 200 hp and 420 Nm (309.8 lb-ft). In the future, BMW will also offer an M Performance Kit for gasoline units.

BMW claims that the kits offer an increase in performance, with the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration time being cut by as much as 1 second, insisting that this doesn’t affect the efficiency figures.

Customers also get M Performance braking system and suspension components, as well as special alloy wheels, which come in a 19- or a 20-inch size. In addition to that, BMW offers aerodynamic parts, a new steering wheel with Race Display, stainless steel pedals, as well as an Alacantara gear shifter and handbrake handle.
