Back in April, the BMW 328d made its debut on American soil, at the New York Auto show. It marked a first for the German automaker, this being the first time they will be selling a 4-cylinder diesel 3 Series in the US.
Since gas doesn’t seem to get any cheaper too soon, most people are now looking for diesel alternatives, even in the US. That’s why everyone was excited when BMW announced that it will be introducing a 37 mpg (6.3l/100km) model across the Atlantic.
The wait is finally over. At New York, BMW announced that the 328d will be available in the US starting this fall and the configurator for this model was just posted online. That means you can configure and order your very own diesel 3er right now.
In case you forgot, we’ll remind you the specs for this model: it comes with a 2-liter turbocharged diesel engine with 180 HP and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque and a 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard. Prices start at $38,600 (€29,000).
