The Chinese are known for not caring about trademark infringements and copying everything they want. However, some manufacturers prefer testing cars in the communist country, to see how they handle the crowded cities in Asia.
The latest batch of spyshots shows the F15 X5 testing around the busy streets of China. These have to be the most revealing photos of the new SUV from BMW to date.

The most important aspect caught in these shots is the interior, which is slightly redesigned. The central console looks similar to the new F30 3 Series shape, with a central pop-up screen replacing the current built-in one.

Furthermore, we get to see how the new wood trims will look like, as the prototype in the photos is equipped with it. The passenger side dash looks different too, showing the direction in which the new design of BMW SUVs is heading.

The new dash is more curvy than the previous version, and more upright. It's more driver focused than the E70 and has the new iDrive touch system.

Going over the exterior, it's pretty obvious where the bonnet character lines will be positioned, due to the camouflage stripes on it. As we expected, the new F15 looks bigger than the current model but it will be lighter due to extensive usage of CFRP.

The new tailpipes will have a different, rectangle oriented shape, opposed to the round ones currently found on the E70 X5. Furthermore, the new headlights will feature full LED support for both low and high beams.

The release date for the new X5 hasn't been announced yet but judging by the looks of this car, expect it to be released at the Frankfurt Auto Show, this autumn.
