BMW DesignworksUSA Earphones Unveiled at CES 2010

The BMW DesignworksUSA Singapore, Los Angeles and Munich studios worked together on developing the new three ranges of earphones that were revealed at the CES exhibition held in Las Vegas last week. Moreover, the CX 680 even received an International CES Innovations Design and Engineering Awards Honoree title.

“Earphones are expected to provide top-quality sound on the move and at the same time have an excellent finish quality,”
explained Maurice Quarré, Head of Product Management Consumer at Sennheiser. “DesignworksUSA created a design that goes beyond technical functionality.”

The first range is destined for users looking for a premium solution to their mobile music needs and makes use of authentic materials including high-quality metal to offer a touch of luxury. This range includes the following models: CX 980, MX 980, OMX 980. The second range of earphones features a brush metal finish that harmonize with the circular central ear bud to provide an intuitive grip. This range includes the following models: MX 880, OCX 880, CX 870, CX 880.

The third and last range is addressed to sportsmen and is characterized by a rhythmic application of opacity and translucency which conveys visual lightness, while an asymmetrical design was developed for a better earphone placement and functionality. The sports range of earphones includes the following items: MX 680, CX 680, OMX 680, PMX 680.
