Just before the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, BMW announced that BMW of North America will be entering partnerships to further expand its 360º Electric portfolio.
What’s the 360º Electric portfolio? It’s a consumer-oriented program designed to overcome usual barriers that come up in the way of enjoying an electric vehicle.

However, unlike all other programs offered by various competitors, the BMW alternative goes way further, including home and public charging, assistance services and flexible mobility (including public transport routes or even on-foot ones).

The whole point of these efforts is to make sure users will seamlessly transition from conventional vehicles to EVs, without ever feeling the need to go back or feeling any sort of shortcoming.

At the moment, the Munich-based manufacturer is the only one that offers such range of features including BMW home Charging Stations (that can also use solar energy), Public Charging through the ChargeNow network, ParkNow LongTerm (a service that allows i3 users to conveniently park their cars), DriveNow and other assistance services.

“BMW has applied the lessons learned and customer feedback from our field trials to develop the 360º Electric portfolio.” said Robert Healey, BMW NA’s Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Manager.

“Electric mobility is new to many customers, and in order to give them maximum confidence and a premium experience, we have given them access to programs and experts that will enable a truly holistic electric driving experience,” he added.
