BMW 335is Coupe and Cabriolet Official Details Revealed

BMW Canada decided to pull the wraps off the brand new 335is Coupe and Cabriolet and present the official details. First of all, the updated versions will be powered by the twin-turbocharged BMW inline-6 engine, which has been slightly modified to produce 320 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque from its 3.0-liters.

The cars come with a standard 6-speed manual transmission, but the 7-speed Double Clutch Transmission (DCT) will be available as an option. The 335is Coupe needs 5.3 seconds to reach 0-100 km/h when equipped with the DCT, or 5.4 seconds when equipped with the manual transmission. The 335is Convertible requires 5.5 seconds for the 0-100 km/h run with either gearbox.

According to BMW, “the BMW 335is Coupe and Convertible have been fitted with a new sport exhaust system to enhance the sound and responsiveness of each model, especially tuned to focus on the low frequency "rumble" sounds that are most enjoyed with the windows (or the Convertible's retractable hard top) lowered. The system is designed to minimize the restriction of exhaust gas flow, which is always important for a turbocharged powerplant. ”

The 335is models standard equipment include xenon headlights with LEDs, LED tail lights, and a revised exterior trim. The car has 18-inch rims in standard, which may be upgraded to 19-inch M-alloys. The M aerokit comes as standard, as well as the M Sport interior.

The 2011 BMW 335is will go on sale late this spring. The BMW 335is price starts at 50,530 USD for the coupe model and at 59,070 USD for the convertible model.
