The Bentley Continental GT is one of the most desirable coupes money can buy and with the latest redesign and inclusion of a smaller, more efficient V8 engine in the options list, it is now more appealing than ever. However, aside from the excellent ‘entry-level’ V8, sourced from Audi, the other end of the Continental GT range is the home of the GT Speed.
It is reportedly the fastest production Bentley ever, reaching an unprecedented top speed of 330 km/h (205 mph), thanks to its 616 hp twin-turbocharged W12 engine. This means that the GT Speed gets a 50 hp boost over the regular GT, while also receiving 100 Nm (74 lb-ft) more, putting the total figure at 800 Nm. Factor in both the power and torque increases and the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) figure of just over four seconds seems very beleavable - it reaches 100 mph (160 km/h) in nine seconds dead, as well.

Aside from the power boost, the GT Speed also gets a raft of fuel-saving updates, which amount to 12% improved efficiency over the outgoing model. The GT Speed retains the efficiency rating of the regular car, which stands at 19.5 mpg (14.5 l/100km). Furthermore, to keep the car planted firmly on the road, the GT Speed gets lowered and revised self-leveling suspension which makes the drive sportier when it needs to, while also offering the expected levels of comfort when it doesn’t.
