With all the recent BMW M235i talk going around, people are bringing back the 1M Coupe subject more than we’re used to. Sure, the two are somehow related but in no way the same or direct descendants as one was a proper M car and one is a brilliant M Performance Automobile.
Sure, at first you might say that there’s little to separate them but there are a couple of things that make all the difference in the world. We won’t go into details now but imagine just how good a proper M2 would be if the M235i received such impressive reviews so far.

Now the 1M Coupe will forever be a special car in every enthusiast’s heart. That’s because it was an atypical ride. It didn’t have a proper M engine but rather an uprated N54 twin turbo unit and it wasn’t named in the traditional way, out of respect for the legendary M1 but it did provide some great thrills.

Over the years, the 6,331 units only made reached all corners of the world and people started making them their own. One such special car was spotted in Germany featuring a very interesting matte grey color with neon green
accents here and there.

You can spot a roll cage inside which means it probably was also used on track and that the standard 340 HP and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque went up as well in the process. The exhaust comes from the specialists over at Akrapovic and the brakes feature StopTech calipers. The ADV5.0 Track Spec Super Light wheels from ADV.1 wheels also confirm this is a track car and quite an expensive one too.
