This car is a true gem, the kind that some classic car collectors wait years for. It is a 1963 Shelby Cobra in original condition, that sat unused since 1981 and has had just two owners in its life. Why are we telling you this? Because we thought some of you might like to buy it at the newly rechristened Auctions America by RM.{Ad}

The Cobra is estimated to be worth between $425,000 - $475,000 by the auction house. That sound like a lot of money, but the model is in exceptional condition for a car of this age. It even comes with the factory powertrain, which recently went through a complete overhaul. Though the car is ready for the road, the red exterior and black interior have been left untouched.

"We're going to kick start the hobby's spring season with an excellent show in Fort Lauderdale, featuring one of the most original Cobras on the planet. The discovery of CSX 2080 represents an important collecting opportunity for automotive enthusiasts," said Donnie Gould, President, Auctions America by RM.

The Cobra combined the power of Ford's short-stroke V8 with the nimbleness of AC's sporting chassis to produce the first successful English-American race car. Legendary drover Carol Shelby was the driving force behind the project, refining and racing the car with funds from Ford.

It will be joined under the block by such rarities as a '32 Duesenberg, a 1969 Shelby GT500 Fastback and a 2005 Ford GT. The event is scheduled to take place at the Broward County Convention Center on March 3-5.
