It's a shame that Cadillac took the CTS from an American muscle car in a tuxedo to a refined and economical German car rival. We hear that the next CTS coupe might not happen at all or will be a lot more subdued and dignified than this bad boy right here.
This ticking time bomb is seconds away from exploding off the line and on to a speed of over 140 miles per hour by the time it reaches the full quarter mile. Most cars can't even reach that kind of speed on an airport runway, but the CTS-V had a little help from Late Model Racecraft.
They played a little with the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 and got it to produce somewhere north of 750 horsepower. With that and a set of 18" drag radials, the Cadillac manages to reach the finish line in 9.93 seconds at a top speed of 142 mph.
Luxury is good, but we bragging right at the strip are even better!
