Not much is known about these models, but the aforementioned source notes that the German carmaker has already presented these models to some of its US dealers, telling them that they will all be launched in Geneva.
The future A3 lineup is believed to come in a total of 5 configurations, 2-door cabriolet, 3-door coupe and hatchback, 4-door sedan and an Avant version. Of course, Audi hasn't commented on the rumors, so we can't really know for sure if there's some truth behind these words.
The A3 will be powered by both gasoline and diesel units, including 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6 petrol units, specifically optimized for improved efficiency and reduced emissions. An RS3 flavor is also on the table, with output to reach 350 horsepower thanks to a 2.5-liter TFSI engine.
If everything goes according to the plan, the production ready A3 could be launched this year in Frankfurt.
A few months ago, sources from within Audi hinted that the Q3 crossover, which will be built at the company's plant in Spain, will be revealed at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, but voices familiar with the matter claim that Germans could do it sooner, possibly at Geneva.
