Audi is set to continue developing its “Plus” range of even faster RS models, with the next vehicle to appear being the RS6 Avant Plus. Head of Audi quattro division, Stephan Reil, confirmed that the company is planning to build the super estate and take its output to around 600 hp.
The Audi RS6 Plus will arrive as a normal model, not a limited production one - Audi’s quattro division has switched to this strategy lately, with its latest products, the TT RS Plus and the R8 V10 Plus, both following this pathway.
As for the future of Plus models, these will mix extra muscle with weight reduction and will a distinct handling. For those concerned about the turbos taking over, you should know that Audi is making efforts to also keep naturally-aspirated performance powerplants alive.
