Audi RS3 to Come with 350 hp 2.5l Turbocharged Engine

We see the Volkswagen Group as an enormous bank of organs that offers automotive enthusiasts multiple combinations of top engines and extremely well engineered platforms. Fortunately, the company’s decision makers seem to be pleased with the business cases built for performance models, as the Group is giving birth to one “go-fast” model after another.

One of the company’s hottest upcoming vehicles is the Audi RS3, a vehicle that will try to claim the crown of the hot hatch segment.

Previous media reports indicated that the RS3 will borrow the TT RS’ 2.5 liter five cylinder engine, sending its power to the road with the help of a quattro all-wheel-drive system.

However, it seems that Audi is really keen to destroy the competition, making sure that it offers the vehicle all the necessary assets to do this. According to Auto Express, the RS3 will not use exactly the same engine as the TT RS. Instead, the mad hatch will come with a 10 hp power boost, offering a total of 350 hp. The unit will be matted to a seven S Tronic dual-clutch gearbox.

A company source has told the aforementioned publication that Audi only plans to bring 2,700 units of the RS3 to the world, so the vehicle will also offer a high level of exclusivity.

We’ll remind you that a set of images revealing certain interior elements of the RS3 have recently surfaced on the web. Thus, we were able to see that the vehicle will come with a leather-wrapped multifunctional steering wheel that will offer gearshift paddles, as well as with a speedometer that goes up to 310 km/h (192.5 mph), defying the car’s 250 km/h (155 mph) electronic speed limit.
