We could have told you another story about CO2 emissions and thee-cylinder engines, but autoevolution likes to bring you that new stuff, that stuff you don't have, as the rappers would say.
OK, so we're pretty sure everybody's seen that you can wrap a car in velvet. It's not real velvet, but a foil which stretches a little bit to match the contours of the car. You've seen that black velvet Ferrari that's been parading all over London, but you've never seen something like this.
It's the Audi A1, a Sportback 5-door model, which has been wrapped in pink. It shouldn't look good. It should look like something the cat spit out, but it's actually not. The execution is perfect, even though the A1 has a lot of curves which are tricky to cover.
The wrap was done by a Swedish company called Folie & Papper Sweden AB for Audi Göteborg. Yes, an Audi dealer wanted this car! It's still a prototype wrap which uses brand new velvet vinyl from KPMF, but it does look promising. And if you're not crazy about pink, there's no shortage of shades to chose from.
