Ladies and gentlemen, it’s now official: given that you have a £330,000 (about $530,000) at your disposal, Aston Martin will gladly take it in exchange for one of the 150 examples of V12 Zagatos it will produce.
The British sportscar maker will also start taking orders, while deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second half of 2012. While a third of a million pounds might seem like a lot for a car that “only” has a 517 hp V12 engine, it’s actually not that much for a coachbuilt car with that’s going to be produced in such limited numbers. We’re pretty sure it will be sold out in a matter of days.
To add a bit of history and prestige into the mix, we’ll remind you that the V12-powered Zagato is built to celebrate the 50th anniversary between the design firm and Aston Martin, which dates back to the DB4GT Zagato.
The V12 Zagato made its official debut at this year’s Concorso D’Eleganza at Villa D’Este in May, winning the Design award for Concepts and Prototypes, then a pair of stunners were successfully raced at the 39th Nurburgring 24 Hour endurance event.
"The V12 Zagato is an elegant yet brutal design which reflects the great balance between race performance and pure Aston Martin style. The original DB4GT Zagato was a true icon, powerful and graceful; the new design is a true representation of the spirit of DB4GT Zagato. The muscular organic forms define the thoroughbred nature of the car’s racing credentials,” said Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s Director of Design.
