The next couple of weeks are going to be extremely busy for the rising star of environmental activists, Greta Thunberg, who is scheduled to appear at several events across North America. Most of the times, people will see the 16-year old coming out of a Tesla Model 3.
Going on a continental tour is not an easy feat for a person who is essentially still a child, so the Sweden-born girl could use all the help she can get. Luckily, her exploits landed her friends in all the right places.
News surfaced ever since the end of last week of former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger planning to help the girl out by lending her one of his electric cars. At the time, sources were talking about the Terminator’s electric Hummer as the car of choice.
That changed in the meantime, and it would appear Thunberg will be using a Tesla Model 3 instead.
According to Car and Driver, citing a spokesperson for Schwarzenegger, the Tesla was chosen because of logistic reasons.
"Getting his electric Hummer across the country would be quite a challenge so it isn't his personal car. It's a Tesla Model 3," the unnamed source was quoted as saying by the publication.
Thunberg is one of the most high-profile environmental activists. Her rise began last year with a call for the young generation to get involved in saving the planet because “you adults are sh*tting on my future.”
Her speech a week ago at the United Nations' Climate Action Summit was one of the most powerful ever delivered on the floor of the New York assembly. Thunberg cut no corners in accusing the world’s government not only of ruining the planet, but the future of countless generations as well.
"But the young people are starting to understand your betrayal. The eyes of all future generations are upon you. And if you choose to fail us, I say: We will never forgive you,” Thunberg warned.
