Aprilia RSV4 Challenges Nissan GT-R On Monticello Track

Yes, we know what you’re thinking and you’re right. The debate of ‘which one is faster? a bike or a car?’ is getting old, and it’s less likely to ever end, considering the multitude of both two-and four-wheeled vehicles out there.

But let’s face it! Whenever a battle surfaces we‘re glad to watch it, regardless the result. This is why when we ran over this video from Aprilia we thought you could enjoy it too.

But before scrolling down to watch the video, stay with us for a minute to see what this is all about. In order to promote the Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC SE, the Italian motorcycle brand decided to take it to the track. The venue chosen was Monticello (near New York, United States), and Nissan’s GT-R had the honor of becoming the bike’s opponent.

Why this car? Because, Aprilia explains, the bike uses the most sophisticated set of performance-enhancing electronics ever fitted to a road legal motorcycle, and the Nissan GT-R similarly relies on revolutionary electronic driver aids to set lap records.

Keep in mind that both vehicles in this race are completely stock down to the tires and piloted by professional racers, and lap times are real. We won’t spoil the surprise for you and tell who won, but we will however take he liberty to mention that while the bike lost under braking while entering a turn, the car had obvious problems exiting corners.

And if you are curious to see exactly what the APRC in the bike’s designation means and does, we invite you to click the following link.
