It looks like the rumors that the encryption file for the new F-series BMW ECU models was leaked are true. Just a couple of days ago we were telling you that an American company is claiming to have created the first tuning kit for the S55 engine found on the new M3/M4 duo and now we’re back with yet another one.
The guys from Alpha-N Performance claim that they can offer a Stage 1 kit for the F80 M3/F82 M4 that will take the power output up to 520 HP and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque. Remember, that’s all coming from a 3-liter inline 6-cylinder engine. That’s extremely hardcore. You should also keep in mind that it's just shy of the 560 HP of the 4.4-liter S63Tu engine from the F10 M5 and claims just as much torque.
However, according to them, this is just Stage 1 and it’s achieved thanks to an EVOX Tuning System (whatever that means). Stage 2 and Stage 3 are on the way, with even more impressive numbers. If they could get 89 HP and 130 Nm (95 lb-ft) more out of the engine with a simple tune in Stage 1, we don’t even want to think about what’s next on their pipeline.
Of course, such a power upgrade requires various other changes to the suspension, brakes and even aerodynamic parts to make sure it’s all under control. The Alpha-N Performance team claims that they are currently working on it, including Ohlins suspension and a variety of carbon fibre aero parts, similar to what you can see in the photos posted below.
