The Japanese automaker Toyota has just kicked off the next teaser chapter for North America – the 2025 Toyota 4Runner is finally coming out as an all-new mid-size off-road SUV, and the sixth generation is probably just around the corner. But what comes next after that?
At long last, Toyota is expanding its new mid-size triumvirate formed with the all-new N400 Toyota Tacoma and J250 Toyota Land Cruiser with a new iteration of the old-school 4Runner – and fans are not hoping for TNGA-F or i-Force Max goodies but rather want a removable hard/soft top so that they can rival the Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco.

Next up, Toyota is going to introduce the 2025 Camry mid-size sedan and the 2025 Crown Signia crossover SUV to its nationwide dealerships. Thus, it has two high-riders and a passenger car arriving in America this year. So, how about establishing balance and bringing out yet another passenger car – a sporty one?

Suppose you ask the imaginative realm of digital car content creators. In that case, it's about time that Toyota made good on the hints and promises from both newly-appointed Toyota President Koji Sato and his predecessor, Chairman Akio Toyoda, who reportedly think that bringing back the Celica nameplate would be a great idea as an intermediate model between the $29,300 GR86 and the $46,440 GR Supra two-door coupes.

Yes, everyone knows that a $36,500 GR Corolla already occupies that space – but this is a five-door hot hatchback, so maybe it doesn't count. Across the parallel universes of vehicular CGI, for sure, the hypothetical Celica Sport revival is already here – and mostly because the good folks over at the CarsVision channel on YouTube have some thoughts about what should come from Toyota in the field of semi-affordable sports cars.

As far as we can tell, this unofficial 2025 Toyota Celica Sport is a mix between the smaller dimensions of the GR86 and the feisty nature of the GR Supra with the same roof style but a new styling for the front and rear light clusters, among others. It's entirely wishful thinking, so take it with a healthy grain of salt, by the way. Alas, since we're in the field of 'what if,' how about this hypothetical Celica Sport getting a hybrid powertrain – the one inside the 2025 Camry (2.5-liter A25A-FXS inline-four) would be a nice fit, albeit with a little more oomph like somewhere around 250 hp, don't you think?

However, if you want more, the 2.4-liter T24A-FTS turbo I4 could rock some 278 horsepower before getting electrified to 326 horsepower, just like on the Tacoma and Land Cruiser, possibly even on the upcoming 2025 Toyota 4Runner. Or are we too far-fetched?
