Alfa Romeo Giulietta, Safety-Car for the Superbike World Championship

The Alfa Romeo Giulietta will act as a safety-car in the Superbike World Championship, starting next round at Monza. The Giulietta will be responsible for track safety starting from the fifth round of the Superbike World Championship, scheduled between May 22 and 23.

The Italian brand will use a sporty version of the Giulietta, the Quadrifoglio Verde, good for 235 horsepower. The car is powered by a 1,75-liter TBi petrol engine and is specially prepared to play the safety-car role in the 13 stages that remain of this year’s Superbike World Championship. The Alfa Romeo Giulietta will also be on duty at the support races like Superstock 600 European Championship, Superstock 1000 FIM Cup and the Mondiale Supersport.

Just as a reminder, Alfa Romeo is one of the main sponsors of the motorcycling competition, being also a backer of the Ducati Xerox team and its drivers: Noriyuki Haga and Michel Fabrizio. To mark its role as a safety-car, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta has completed a few laps of the Monza track along the exotic 8C Competizione, the Italian brand’s halo car.

The Giulietta safety-car has special front spoiler and side sills which will be available to order from the Lineaccessori catalog. The side mirrors are made of carbon fiber. The Superbike World Championship Giulietta will be the only red Giulietta customers will get to see until November. That’s because Alfa Romeo removed the Rosso Competizione color from the order catalog because of problems with a supplier.

From November, however, clients will be able to order the red color for an extra EUR2,000.
