Abarth Sports Car Sketch Revelealed

As you know, Fiat’s performance sub-brand Abarth is currently working to develop a new standalone sports car. We recently found out that the Italian company will develop a new platfrom for the two-seater and will not use the architecture of the Lotus Elise or the platform of the KTM X-Bow, as earlier media reports indicated.

While mutiple technical details for the vehicle are (unofficially) available, the design of the car remains a mistery. This is why the community of independent car designers has decided to step in and offer us a potential design for the future car.

The current proposal comes from David Cardoso, who is showing us what would happen if Fiat chose to use the 500 family face for the upcoming model. Such a decision is quite unlikely, but this hasn’t stopped us from presenting you the concept created by the Belgian artist.

Unlike other designers who give birth to a sketch and throw it on the web, Cardoso chose to also offer a description of his creation. First of all, we must mention that he chose not to link the vehicle to the Abarth name, using the Fiat Primo designation.

The designer has used the modern fiat 500 as an inspiration source for the front of the vehicle, while the rear of the creations borrows styling cues from the Fiat 128 Coupe.

The Fiat Primo is a 2 seat Roadster Coupé with retro design. The front is inspired by the Fiat 500 while the rear has the looks of a Fiat 128 Coupé. This concept could also be designed as a cabriolet so that it could compete with the bestseller from Mazda, the MX-5,” said Cardosso.
