Google has just released a new Google Maps update for Android and Android Auto, so users who rely on this app for navigation, as well as those who like to explore new locations with the mobile app can download it right away.
As everybody knows already, Google doesn’t provide a changelog for new Google Maps updates unless there’s something truly big in there.

So the lack of a changelog is typically an indication that the new Google Maps update is, in fact, a small release whose main purpose is to further polish the experience with the app and possibly to resolve a number of bugs reported by the community recently.

This appears to be the purpose of Google Maps 10.41.4 for Android as well, especially since the version is just a small build increase from 10.41.2. I already installed the app on my Android device and didn’t notice any substantial change on Android Auto, but I expect the update to come with bug fixes for those who previously struggled with a specific feature on their mobile phones.

For the time being, there’s no confirmation on this, but Google Maps updates are particularly important for millions of drivers out there. At this point, Google Maps is hands down the number one navigation app on Android Auto, so all these updates come to refine the experience overall and make everything work just as it’s supposed to.

Some users have reported various glitches with Google Maps lately, including the lack of audio navigation guidance, but a confirmation as to whether this new version resolves any of these isn’t yet available.

The new update is already available for the first users who want to install it from the Google Play Store, but as always, it goes live in stages across the world, so you may still have to wait for a few more hours before it shows up on your device. Meanwhile, you can manually download the latest Google Maps version using the dedicated APK installer.
