There's a growing trend in the Chinese car industry: turning average cars into high-end luxury vehicles. In order for such a project to be called 'drivable' you should, of course, spend a lot of money, money that would get you the original car without all the hustle.
However, for some people, fitting a BMW kidney grille to the front fascia of their Chinese car and slamming some roundels at the front, sides and back, seem to do the trick.

For example, one Lifan 620 owner did this and we're here to see how it turned out. For those of you that don't know, the Lifan 620 is built in China by the Lifan Group and is powered by a 4-cylinder 1.6-liter engine that delivers 116 HP.

The car is also sold in countries like Brazil and Vietnam and even Iran, where it has a bigger, 1.8-liter engine. Nonetheless, this car is cheap, nowhere near a BMW, especially in China, where such luxury vehicles have impressive price tags.

So, for a couple of bucks, our man tried to turn his cheap Chinese vehicle into something that resembles (somewhat) a 5 Series. Needless to say, the end result was disastrous, looking something like the thing Dr. Frankenstein created and couldn't kill afterwards. Horrible!
