2021 Porsche Panamera Facelift Spied With Sneaky Camo

By the time Porsche was done with the facelift for the first-gen Panamera, people thought it was another car. However, the 2021 redesign for the arguably more beautiful Mk2 model is more subtle.

It's hard to believe that the Panamera II is almost 3 years old now, which means it will receive a facelift around this time next year. Prototypes have been testing for a short while now, hiding in plain sight with body-colored camouflage.

The mods are tiny and difficult to spot. You know how it is with Porsche; they move everything around an inch and charge people more every year.

But since this is one of the most iconic 4-door coupes out there, everything they do will be memorable. The back is what has everybody's attention. There, the prototype sports part of a new taillight system, which appears to be narrower, in the style of hypercars. Eventually, we're going to be left with just a thin band.

With the car stopping at a junction, we can see taillight graphics have been updated as well. The front, meanwhile, has just a bit of cladding around the nose and beneath the headlights. This could be a way to connect to the design of the TaycanEV, which is similarly shaped but has vents right under the headlights.

Inside, so far we've only seen a new steering wheel on a previous prototype. At the same time, the safety and autonomy systems might be upgraded a bit. You might think that the engines don't need any work, but you'd be wrong. Audi has just begun rolling out mild-hybrid systems even onto its performance cars, and we know the two companies have to collaborate on V6 and V8 mills to be profitable.

You'll have two electric systems, a low-voltage one for the normal functions and a 48V setup storing recuperated energy. Porsche's decision not to have diesel is definitely hurting sales. Will they like the efficient new 3.0 TDI with an electric compressor from the European S4 and S6? Maybe. Maybe not.
