Summer is coming into its own in the UK, which is why the time is right for Mercedes-Benz to announce the pricing of the C-Class Cabriolet (A205). Mind you, first deliveries will be made in September.
There are eleven flavors to choose from, ranging from the C 200 all the way to the AMG C 63 S Edition 1. Non-AMG models, from the C200 to the C300, can be beautified even further with the AMG Line trim level, which is priced at £1,495.

Over the entry-level C-Class Cabriolet Sport, the AMG Line package adds black ash wood trim, brushed aluminum, AMG sports steering wheel with a flat bottom, brushed steel pedals, black roof lining, 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, diamond grille with chrome pins, AMG body kit, and a sports suspension that lowers ride height by 15 mm.

Don’t, however, think that Sport is a spartan specification. In this regard, standard equipment includes heated sports seats wrapped in Artico leather, Airscarf, Aircap, Memory Package, LED headlights, reversing camera, Garmin Map Pilot satellite navigation, Mirror Package, Active Parking Assist, and Agility Control suspension. C-Class Cabriolet customers that opt for the 9G-Tronic 9-speed auto get more standard kit in the form of keyless start & entry and ambient lighting.

Although diesel defeats the purpose of a convertible, the drop-top C-Class is available with two of them: the C 220 d (167 bhp; rear-wheel- and all-wheel-drive) and the C 250 d (201 bhp; rear-wheel-drive). The rest of the engine lineup is fed by high-octane jungle juice. The most powerful of the lot are the C 63 S and C 63 S Edition 1, both models being motivated by a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 that churns out 503 bhp and 516 pound-foot (700 Nm) of torque between 1,750 and 4,500 rpm.

Customers can choose between four colors for the soft top of the C-Class Cabriolet: black, dark blue, dark red, and, for reasons I find hard to explain, dark brown. As a brief reminder, the roof can be raised or lowered at speeds of up to 31 miles per hour (50 kilometers per hour).

C 220d (manual): £38,580
