Have you ever seen GM Vice President of Global Product Development driving? If not, now's your chance, and since it's all happening inside a 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, the footage showing the action is worthy of your full attention.
We've introduced you to the sixth-gen incarnation of the ZL1 Camaro earlier today, but while the machine's specs may sound amazing, nothing compares to seeing how well this Corvette Z06-engined Camaro performs in the real world.

By that, we mean the Spring Mountain Raceway, where Chevrolet has recently asked some of its top people, such as the exec we mentioned above, to offer shotgun rides to people from the media.

The piece of footage below (helmet tip to Youtuber Saabkyle04) takes us inside the car, with Reuss flogging the development prototype as if his job depended on it. We're dealing with the 10-speed automatic incarnation of the new ZL1.

While we'll have to wait to get behind the wheel ourselves, the gearshifts appear to be incredibly swift. As for the soundtrack of the LT4 under the hood, the comparison with the Hellcat seems inevitable - while the soundtrack of Mopar's blown 6.2-liter V8 is dominated by its supercharger, the Camaro ZL1's LT4 offers a balanced approach, mixing the exhaust roar (and what a roar) with the supercharger whine.

The ingredients that promise to make the 2017 Camaro ZL1 a top performer on the track are not few. For one thing, the new model beats its predecessor on the dyno by over 60 hp and 80 lb-ft. Then there's the diet introduced by the sixth-generation platform, which means the 2017 model one-ups the model it replaces by 200 pounds.

Even the Eagle F1 Supercar rubber was developed specifically for this car by Goodyear, while an electronic limited-slip diff promises to keep everything in check.

As for the drivability, GM claims this thing can easily become your daily partner in transportation. With the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro SS set to go on sale later this year, we don't have too much to wait in order to find out if it's all true.
