The upcoming Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG Coupe is getting closer to its reveal date, although it's still a bit far from shedding all that camo since the non-AMG version of the CL-replacement hasn't been unveiled yet.
From what can be seen in some of the adjacent photos, the pre-production prototype caught by our spy photographers seems to have just taken part in a very high speed run, as part of the rear camouflage where air from underneath would normally exist seems to have been torn off.

Considering it will share the twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 with the S 63 AMG W222, it's no surprise that the car will be more than able to reach some highly illegal speeds.

Internally-codenamed M157, the eight-cylinder is capable of no less than 585 hp and 900 Nm (664 lb ft) of torque. Paired with the 7-speed multi-clutch transmission it should reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in about 0.1 seconds less time than its sedan brother. Mostly thanks to a slightly lower weight than the four-door.

We're expecting the non-AMG production version of the S-Class Coupe C217 at the 2014 North American International Auto Show, while the S 63 AMG depicted here should be unveiled closer to or at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
