Stop for a moment and really think back to the very first car that got you interested in the world of rubber and petrol. It probably wasn't a BMW X5, a Honda Accord or a minivan, now was it? The spark probably came from something like a sleek Ferrari, a Porsche or some kind of budget sportscar with mind-blowing performance. What do they all have in common? Two doors and a sexy body.

The Lexus RC F has that certain wakaranai (that's Japanese for je ne sais quoi… we hope. Dry humor anyone?) that ensures a brand new generation of petrolheads is probably born right as we speak, somewhere between the iPad versions of car magazines and gaming consoles. It's low, it's fat, sits on massive wheels with a body that oozes out character and aggression. Of course, you can't talk about Lexus styling nowadays without the spindle grille. There have been a few ugly ducklings over the years, but with the new coupe, they really have mastered the art.

From the side, this is a typical coupe, with small windows ending in what's now the trademark Lexus swoop. Especially in the flesh, this is more like a concept car than something that belongs in a showroom.

The interior is nowhere near as crazy as the outside. Sure, there are a few carbon fiber accents and a red leather seat option, but nothing really crazy. It's like a modern piano – looks a little different, but the keys are in exactly the same play as a classical instrument. Everything reminds you of the LFA supercar, which is no bad thing.

Paint and chrome are cool, but numbers can be sexy as well. And those numbers are pumped out by what's under the bonnet: 4,969cc, 467 hp, 391lb-ft (530 Nm) of torque, 8 speeds, 8 cylinders. The engine bay looks absolutely stuffed with technology, like you couldn't place an extra hose or spark plug anywhere. We like that… no, we really like that. We also drove the vanilla version called a RC 350 F Sport, which uses the same tried and tested 3.5-liter V6 as almost every other Lexus made. We're willing to bet that some of those numbers will be etched into your brains, along with the fasts and photos in very own Lexus RC F review.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
