At the this year’s Geneva Motor Show is was only natural to have the guys from Hyundai offer us something interesting. Thus, they came forth with an official sketch of their new generation 2015 Sonata model and we must say, they’ve got our attention.
We’re talking about a more serious-looking Sonata with a clear design line, a rather smooth look. Besides the offcial drawing, we also have a real-time photo of the car from the guys over at TheKoreanCarBlog. Unfortunately, there aren’t too many details available concerning the interior as well as the vehicle’s power-train lineup. Only a rendering photo is available and we must say it looks pretty good, giving out a very warm feeling as the design team seemed to have opted for different shades of brown.

According to the company, Sonata’s interior “ aligns with the premium exterior, adopting consistent design details that fully reflect careful consideration of ergonomics and intuitive operation. The horizontally designed cabin gives off a stable feeling, and tailored design specifications for all materials and master craftsmanship-level finish strengthen the Sonata’s premium image."

Thus, it is pretty clear that they have big plan with this new generation model. Hyundai actually hopes to repeat, if not surpass, the 200,000 deliveries of the former version of the Sonata. Also, they want to make this particular car even more successful than the adored YF and take on models such as the Ford Fusion and Nissan Altima.

Hyundai promises its clientele improvements on all levels, designing a more refined and premium vehicle. We’re talking about a “Fluidic Sculpture 2.0” themed Sonata that has upgrades when it comes to its safety credentials. The company actually expanded the use of Advanced-High Strength Steel (AHSS), on the platform (from 21 percent to 51 percent) and even increased the use of structure adhesive by more than 10 times over previous models. Moreover, the car will be, according to Hyundai, easier to control and funner to drive.

Those that are interested in the car ought to know that it is scheduled to meet the public eye in its home market (South Korea) at the end of March, the world premiere being at the New York International Auto Show from mid-April.
